Some video clips from Bolton Against Bedroom Tax protest at the Full Council meeting held on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December 2014.
Bolton Council plans to use £40 million from its reserves & spend £3 million on consultants & other highly paid staff, in order to carry out £43 million in cuts to Council services, privatise others, and to introduce a new two-tier workforce. In the process a further 500 jobs will go, adding to the 1,350 already axed since 2010.
We say why not dispense with the consultants and use the £40m of reserves to avoid any cuts or privatisation of services in this year’s budget whatsoever?
This would provide breathing space over the next year for the 8 Labour controlled Greater Manchester authorities to work collaboratively in finding a joint solution to the cuts devastating our town instead of meekly going along with implementing Tory cuts.
