redflagIn this section of the site we look at the history of the club from the earliest days of the Social Democratic Foundation, when Tom France had an idea, right through to 2006.

Click on a period above to read about it.

The minutes of club are available for the public to view at the Local Archive section in Bolton Library.

However, the minutes don't tell the whole story and the history shown here, whilst based around the minutes, also relies on testimony from the members of the club.

In fact, the history is still a work in progress especially as several older members have been contacted and asked to contribute their memories of significant events that involved members of the club in some way.

If you want to contribute a piece or two please contact us via the Contact page.

After 2006, the News section and archive contain details of the club's activities though significant items will be recorded in fuller detail in this section.
