Better Buses For Manchester
Better Buses for Manchester is a campaign calling on GM Mayor Andy Burnham to improve our buses and bring them under public control. While trains and trams get a lot of attention, buses make up nearly 80% of public transport journeys in Greater Manchester. Bus fleets and service networks are not up to scratch currently and need to work much better. Pascale Robinson, John Broughton from Unite the union and Summer Dean, co-founder of Association of British Commuters, explore the bus company’s motives and explain how we can win better buses for Greater Manchester as part of a much needed, improved public transport network. Includes a short film by Summer Dean. Followed by Q&A.
