Monthly meet-up for the local poetry and spoken word group. A very informal and supportive atmosphere, and open to all. NW legends Jefferama and Gordon Zola lead proceedings.

This month’s workshop launches the group’s project for the Walt Whitman bicentennial in 2019, an anthology of work inspired Whitman, his poetry and ideas. This will be one of several projects taking place next year ranging across the town to commemorate Bolton's historic link with the father of American poetry. If you are interested in contributing please join us for this introductory session.

The service is at Bury Cemetery, St Peter's Road, Bury at 10.30 am , with everybody gathering on Tuesday 9th October at the Fishpool, Liberal Club, 79 Nelson St, Bury, BL9 9HX, to celebrate his life, after the cremation.

Nat has been stalwart of the local music scene for many years, as a performer, writer and activist. An expert on the work of Bob Dylan, Nat’s music emerges directly from the lived experience of the underdog and oppressed. Tonight he discusses the music that has inspired him and helped shape his view of the world. Julia asks the questions and cues the music.
